Your Smooth Move Guide: Preparing for Moving Day
Thank you for choosing Coast to Coast Removals Ltd! To help ensure your move is efficient, smooth, and stress-free, please take the time to read and follow this preparation guide before our movers arrive at your premises.
Please Remember: Our moving services are charged on an hourly basis. Being fully prepared when our team arrives directly saves you time and money. Delays caused by incomplete packing or furniture dismantling will unfortunately result in additional time needed and therefore, additional charges.
Key Preparation Steps Before We Arrive
List of Services
-
Complete Your PackingList Item 1
- All loose household and office items must be securely packed into sturdy moving boxes.
- Ensure boxes are properly taped shut (top and bottom). Avoid making them too heavy to lift safely or leaving them half-empty, which risks crushing.
- Clearly label each box with its contents and destination room (e.g., "Kitchen - Crockery," "Office - Files," "Bedroom 2 - Linens"). Mark any fragile boxes clearly.
-
Dismantle Furniture (CRUCIAL)List Item 2
- Beds: All types of bed frames (including headboards/footboards) must be fully dismantled before our crew arrives. Please collect all screws, bolts, and hardware in a sealed plastic bag and tape it securely to the largest part of the corresponding bed frame.
- Other Large Items: Items like cribs, large modular office desks, trampolines, swing sets, etc., should also be dismantled prior to our arrival.
- Important Cost Note: If our moving team needs to dismantle beds or other furniture upon arrival because it hasn't been done, this will add significant time to your move and will incur additional charges based on our standard hourly rate.
-
Prepare AppliancesList Item 3
- Refrigerators/Freezers: Must be emptied, defrosted, cleaned, and dried thoroughly. Secure any loose shelves or drawers internally.
- Washing Machines: Disconnect water hoses, ensure they are fully drained, and secure them (and power cords) to the machine. Secure the drum using shipping bolts if you have them.
- Dishwashers/Ovens: Ensure they are appropriately disconnected from utilities (water, power, gas) by a qualified person if necessary.
-
Secure ElectronicsList Item 4
- Disconnect all wiring from TVs, computers, printers, stereos, etc.
- Bundle cables neatly (consider labelling). It's often best to pack cables with their corresponding devices. We advise transporting highly sensitive or complex electronic items yourself.
-

- Please ensure adequate, legal parking space is available for our moving truck(s) as close as possible to the main entrance/loading area at both your pick-up and drop-off locations.

Coast2Coast Removals Ltd cannot accept responsibility for damage to items that were already broken, unstable, or compromised before we handled them. We may note significant existing damage before moving an item.
-
Items Packed By Customer (PBO)List Item 2
